Our People
Ailsa Lamont, Co-Founder
Ailsa has worked in capacity building, social innovation, and international education—including roles as international director and pro vice-chancellor international at three Australian universities, in 2016, she founded Pomegranate Global to guide the education sector to take action on climate change. She has since trained with The Climate Reality Project, former U.S. Vice President Al Gore’s foundation to catalyse a global solution to the climate crisis and has graduated from the WorkforClimate Academy. In 2019, Lamont co-founded the Climate Action Network for International Educators (CANIE), a grassroots initiative by international education practitioners who see the need and the opportunity to step up and take greater action on climate. She served as a NAFSA Senior Fellow for Sustainability in 2021. Contact Ailsa.
Emily O’Callaghan, Co-Founder and CEO
Emily has worked in education for two decades across sector advocacy, research, policy and development. As General Manager at the International Education Association of Australia she oversaw IEAA’s governance, partnerships, strategy, research, policy and major projects. She has experience working with students, government and education stakeholders across the world including Indian Sub-continent, Middle East, South-East Asia, Europe and the Americas. Emily is a mentor to early career professionals and co-founded and developed the IEAA Young Professionals Network. She is a strong advocate for the student voice and volunteers on the Council of International Students Australia (CISA). She is also a standing member of the IEAA Data Group, an elected member of the IEAA Board and a member of the Australian Institute of Directors. Contact Emily.
Will Archer, Co-Founder
Will is best known as founder of the research, benchmarking and advisory group i-graduate and the International Student Barometer. During this time he worked with more than 1,200 education providers across 57 countries, reporting and comparing feedback from more than 2.3m students. Since then he has divided his time between advisory roles for government bodies, education providers and research groups, and mentoring businesses and leaders in international education. Contact Will
Nannette Ripmeester, Co-Founder (Europe)
Nannette has worked on mobility for study and work purposes for over 30 years. She started at the European Commission, founded Expertise in Labour Mobility and CareerProfessor.works and is involved in running the International Student Barometer in North America and Europe. Over the years her motto has been ‘making mobility work’ for clients in the higher education, corporate and government sector, constantly listening to the student voice to enable long-term success for international mobility. John Crick, Director Partnerships (UK)
John has held a number of senior positions across the international education sector for over two decades, most recently as Director, Services & Compliance at Edtech startup Enroly. His journey from international student recruitment through to operations, immigration and compliance has led him to take a keen interest in sustainability. As an Associate member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), he has led the charge at Enroly to measure its carbon footprint and sign up to the United Nations’ ‘Race to Zero’ sustainability commitment. Estrid Jonsson, Climate Eye
Estrid is a fourth-year international student studying MEng Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Aberdeen. Having previously worked for the Sustainability Team in Estates and Facilities at the University of Aberdeen, she developed a methodology to calculate student travel emissions now adopted by the EAUC: The Alliance for Sustainability Leadership in Education.
Ivan Hasjim, Data Analyst
Ivan is a skilled Business Analyst with a strong background in data analytics in international education. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, where he has been working since he completed his degree. As a former international student he is passionate about the international education field and how to best use data to improve the student experience.
